National competition in French language

Deadline for submitting entries in Abuja: Wednesday 18th March, 2015

Award Ceremony on Francophonie Day: Saturday 21st March at 6pm
Venue: Institut français du Nigeria

COMPETITION AIMS:
- Use the French language not just as a communication tool, but as a means of artistic expression
- Developing the spirit of French language creativity through writing poetry

THEME:
Le Voyage (The Journey)

COMPETITION:
Write a 14 verse poem in French (free structure)
ELIGIBILITY:
The French Poetry Competition to open to
  • Francophone people (French is your mother tongue) and 
  • Non-Francophone people (French is not your mother tongue)
You must be between 15 and 25 years old. There is no condition on your nationality.

PRIZE:
The Institut français du Nigeria will choose the 2 best poems of each group and will give prices to the 4 winners at the Awards Ceremony of the Francophonie Day celebrated on Saturday, March 21, 2015 at 6pm.

The 4 best poems will then be sent to the Alliance française in Ibadan which will organise a national selection and an Award Ceremony on Sunday 7th June, 2015 at 2pm.

At the national level of the competition, the prices are as follow (3 prices for each group):
  • 1st price: ₦50,000
  • 2nd price: ₦30,000
  • 3rd price: ₦20,000
